North Bengal is often called the gateway to the Eastern Himalayas, as this is where you begin the magical journey into the heart of the beautiful mountains of the North East. There is much to see and experience here, from visiting popular monasteries, tea gardens, and most hiking up the tiger hill to watch the sun rise over Mount Kanchenjunga – world’s third highest mountain peak.
The Sunderbans, which lies in the southern part of Bangladesh and East Indian state of West Bengal, is the realm of unique flora and fauna. Its biological significance has earned it a place on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.
The tour starts as you enter Kolkata – the city of joy, in every sense, the artistic, cultural and intellectual capital of the country. It has a distinct tinge of its royal past lingering in every nook and cranny of the city. From here we head to Sunderbans National Park – the largest delta in the world. A wildlife enthusiast can view an Indian Tiger swimming in the sea – a very rare sight, which can fascinate anyone. The biggest attraction of Sunderbans is its topography.
We take you further to Darjeeling in North Bengal to Kalimpong, another beautiful hill town in North Bengal. We enter Sikkim, through the picturesque and popular town of Gangtok. This trip is bound to get you interested in exploring the vistas of North East India beyond these towns.
